Printer Friendly Version CEREMONY OF TRIBUTE TO NOTR DAME ORGANIZED BY THE CITY OF PARIS FOLLOWING THE FIRE @ 24 April 2019 12:58 PM

Following the catastrophic fire that ravaged Notre-Dame Cathedral, a tribute ceremony was held on April 18 in front of the Paris City Hall, in thanks to all those who contributed to the rescue of Cathedral. The highest honors were given to the members of the fire brigade who mastered the fire after nine hours.

During the ceremony open to the public, attended by ambassadors accredited in Paris, Mayor Anne Hidalgo, the Minister of the Interior Christophe Castaner, the rector-archpriest of Notre Dame, Monsignor Patrick Chauvet, and the General Jean-Claude Gallet, chief of the fire brigade of Paris addressed the guests.

After the ceremony, the participants in the gathering, escorted by Mayor Hidalgo and Minister Castaner, went to the square where Notre Dame is located.
