French President His Excellency Mr. Emanuel Macron paid the two-day official visit to Serbia on July 15 and 16, 2019. On the arrival of the French President, a plaque was inaugurated at the Nikola Tesla Airport on the occasion of the official launch of modernization of Belgrade airport to be carried out by VINCI Airports. The official ceremony with the highest honors took place in front of the palace "Srbija", where the two presidents exchanged their views on the most current issues, followed by a joint press conference. Twenty-two bilateral agreements have been signed in different areas.

The two Presidents laid wreaths on the Monument to the Defenders of Belgrade in 1914-1918 at the New Cemetery (Novo groblje), and also laid flowers on the grave of the famous Serbian heroine of the First World War, Milunka Savić, where subsequently, President Macron met with the descendants of the latter.

After laying a wreath on the recently renovated Monument of Gratitude to France which dates back from 1930 and commemorates the friendship and alliance between the two countries, French President Emanuel Macron addressed to the audience, and he gave part of the speech in Serbian.

On the second day of the visit, the two presidents met with youth representatives from the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), while President Macron met a group of artists and representatives from the field of the culture.
